The Top 25 companies were selected by an independent panel of five judges who are knowledgeable about business in Arizona: two business editors, a business owner, a W.P. Carey School of Business director and a retired bank board member.
They based their decision on benefits, company culture and numbers of women in the workforce, management positions and on boards.
2009 Judges were: Debbie Gaby, co-founder and president of Sleep America; Julie David, director for the Center of Advancing Business through IT at the W.P. Carey School of Business; Patricia Cole, retiree and board member of Bank 440; Christina Leonard, current state and county government and politics editor (former Arizona Woman editor), The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com; and Kathy Tulumello, business-center director for The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com.
