Our History: The Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce formed the Convention & Visitors Bureau division in 1987. Since July 1, 2001, the Scottsdale CVB has been a separate corporate entity. The CVB is responsible for marketing Scottsdale as a world-class vacation, meetings and group travel destination to national and international target audiences, including meeting and incentive planners, travel agents, tour operators, leisure visitors and media. We are the destination marketing organization serving the municipalities of Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Fort McDowell and Salt River. We are committed to enhancing the economic base of Scottsdale and its partnering communities through a strong visitor, meetings and group travel industry. We achieve this by actively maintaining our position of leadership in Arizona's hospitality and tourism industry; strategically positioning our destination in both the domestic and international markets to attract targeted, high-value visitors to our resorts and hotels; and by teaming with members of our community to create awareness and excitement in our established markets, and build credibility and interest in our entry markets.

Our Culture: The Scottsdale CVB is built on a philosophy of excellence and fundamental values. We conduct business on a day-to-day basis based upon the following 10 core values, which help guide our practices, programs and partnerships: commitment to excellence, communication, innovation, integrity, knowledge, passion, performance accountability, professionalism, strategic planning and teamwork.

Benefits: The Scottsdale CVB offers a positive working environment based on passion, communication and cooperation. We offer full medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits, as well as life insurance, long-term disability, and a 401(k) savings plan. In addition, the CVB has an employee assistance program that provides free and confidential access to professional counseling for a broad range of issues. Employees receive a minimum of two weeks of vacation, two personal days and 10 sick days per year. The CVB offers competitive salaries and bonuses, and professional development opportunities. To foster a fun work environment, the Committee for Employee Relations and Teambuilding Spirit (CERTS) coordinates themed monthly staff meetings, holiday potlucks, a holiday cookie exchange, Halloween costume contest, social get-togethers, Whoa Wednesday snacks, and more during the year. The CVB also recognizes its employees through a quarterly Shining Star Award, Spot Innovation awards, and an employee referral bonus.

Client Satisfaction: “I have rarely seen such a dedicated and professional staff such as you and your colleagues at the CVB, you guys are wonderful to work with!” (Mathieu Bourassa, Director of Events, Othentika, Canada)
